Personality: Jean is a very easy person to get along with given her gentle nature; she usually has a smile and a kind word for everyone. She knows what it is like to be different as her own experiences have taught her, she is a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to who will listen and not judge. She tries to give good sound advice to those who ask for it and help better everyone’s lives as well as her own. She exhibits a strong sense of calm and understanding whenever she is around people putting them instantly at ease with her.
Though Jean has a caring personality she is far from being a push over, she is very confident in herself and independent. She can be very bold and opinionated and has no problem speaking her mind if she feels it is important enough to voice. Jean stands up for what she believes in and though she is usually a calm collected person she does have a temper. It takes a lot to anger her but when she is mad you know it, she can hold a grudge as anyone else can and has done so on occasion for weeks on end.
Mom’s name: Elaine Grey
Dad’s name: John Grey
Siblings names: Sara Grey-Bailey (Deceased)
Other important relatives:
What I can Do and Can't
Powers: Jean has very powerful telepathic ability though it started out basic and she had to work at it to get it to the point that it is at now. Like nearly all telepaths she has the ability to read and project her thoughts into people’s minds. She can also sense mental thought patterns that allow her to remain aware of her surroundings and those in it much easier then a normal person would. She can also establish mental links between herself and others, her most prominent and strongest is with Scott Summers.
Her powers can be used for telepathic defense. She can mentally mask her own presence, from being detected by other psychics, and go one step further; masking the presence of those she is with as well. This defense mechanism is not perfect and can be detected by other powerful mutants. A method that works better is the creation of a psionic shield. Jean can also mentally manipulate the mind patterns of other mutants, making them undetectable by other psychics and devices such as cerebro.
Abilities: Jean can also use her powers offensively, she has the ability to inflict mental pain and has leaned how to create psionic blasts and a psionic firebird. This blast mentally attacks an opponent and can have a temporary effect, or it can have permanent brain damage. The 'psionic firebird' is a manifestation of her telepathy, which becomes a physical and mental attack. Though very powerful these two attacks are extremely draining both physically and mentally and Jean requires time to recover when they are used.
Jean also possesses telekinetic power, the ability to lift herself and objects using her mind. This ability also allows her to manipulate molecules, which can then be use to create a protective force field or to stimulate heat molecules which generate concussive force.
Weaknesses: Jean relies more on her powers in combat then she does hand to hand combat though she does know how to do so. She trains both physically and mentally as much as she can to keep herself ready if a battle ensues. Jean has a lot of self-doubts regarding her powers. There is also fear there that keeps her from reaching her full potential with her powers; she does not wish to lose control as she has seen others do before. She respects her own abilities and powers and wishes to always maintain control so she doesn’t hurt those she cares for the most.
What Happened to Me:
Jean Grey was born the daughter of Dr. John Grey and Elaine Grey. Before joining the X-Men, she lived with her family in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, where Dr. Grey worked as a history professor at Bard College.
Jean is the only member of her immediate family with mutant abilities (her niece and nephew, Joey and Gailyn, are also revealed as mutants). Her powers first manifest at the age of ten, prematurely triggered when her best friend, Annie Richards, is hit by a car. As her friend lies dying, Jean instinctively links to her mind and senses what Annie feels when she dies; the trauma of experiencing her friend's death nearly kills Jean as well, but instead leaves her in a coma.
Jean's parents seek the expertise of specialists to rouse her out of her catatonic state, of which only Professor Charles Xavier is able to help. Xavier uses Jean to help locate mutants with his Cerebro Machine. During one fateful session on the astral plane Jean senses young Scott Summers in the orphanage and an aspect of her mind, manifesting in the form of a golden Phoenix raptor, reaches out to him. Xavier realizes that Jean's young mind cannot yet cope with her abilities, so he telepathically blocks her access to them, allowing her powers to evolve at a more natural pace. Jean develops her telekinetic powers at the age of 13. She is currently at Xavier's institute for Gifted youngsters learning more about her own powers and how to control and use them for good and productive purposes.

She was running, her breathing came fast and hard as she tried to keep herself from crashing to the ground. She didn’t look back, didn’t need to, knowing that the things were right behind her. The clouds she had summoned hung in the heavens, not forgotten but unable to be used. Her gift required all of her concentration and at the moment she had none to spare. If she stopped they would kill her. She heard their laughter and a moment later felt the ground tremble a second before it broke apart under her feet causing her to stumble. Strange twisted vines sprang from the newly uncovered earth, thorns reaching out and wrapping around her wrists and ankles.
Within seconds she was bound by the vines, the thorns pierced her flesh deeply. They sliced through muscles and tendons only to break through the other side. There was no running now, the wounds all over her made it impossible to keep going. She had run for a long time once she had discovered that they could combat her weather magic with magic of their own, earth and water, fire and air. These were like the elementals of the old stories and each one was every bit as powerful as she was. They came to her, the little creatures about half her size that floated on the wind, their gigantic butterfly wings keeping them aloft in the dancing winds. Each one shown like will’o’wisps, some blue, some green, others red and yellow. They were beautiful women, each with flowing long hair and lithe bodies. Beautiful and deadly creatures that wanted her dead.
“Weather witch,” One of them said, or all of them, they seemed to speak as one their voices like hundreds of echoes. “You see, we did tell you. You are no match for the Shinning Ones. Our masters and mistresses will be pleased. One more imposter wiped from the face of the other. Let us show you, one more time.” In unison they raised their arms and she felt the vines tighten on her arms and legs, dragging her in opposite directions. The pain was excruciating as she felt her tendons and muscles rip and tear. Her shoulder’s dislocated first, the sound of them coming from their sockets one of the most horrible sound she had ever hear. She was screaming as her own skin began to shred, the bones popping and snapping until finally tendons and ligaments reached the breaking point.
Her arms broke from her body in a spray of blood as another vine wrapped around her waist to continue pulling her apart. Her legs ripped away a few seconds later, covering the ground in blood as black as pitch. Still she lived, agony in every breath. They were not finished with her and a moment later, long six foot icicles ripped through her stomach and chest. The creatures were laughing as she was dying in pain, blood blossoming on her lips as she looked up at them. The red ones smiled at her as fire engulfed her, burning every inch of her body into ash. She lived through all of it, her spirit unable to escape the torment. With her body’s death, the little spirits tore apart her immortal soul and devoured it.
Jean sat up in bed with a cry of surprise and horror; the nightmare had been so real, TOO real. And worse it had involved Storm. With a shaky breath she slowed her breathing and got up to head into the bathroom to splash some water on her face. It wouldn’t do to have any of the students or the staff seeing her like this.
