Kitty was beyond confused as she looked around panicking. She'd decided to wander the streets for a while after school had ended and so had foolishly taken off into the midst of New York with no idea where she was going. She would not usually be so stupid as to go around a city as big as New York on her own without someone accompanying her, but she was upset. It was her first week at school and already she'd been picked on. She hadn't been in her right state of mind when she'd decided to take off, but now that she was, she was terrified.
She wasn't sure how long she'd been out and about, but it's been a while. The teenager had no idea where she was going, nor which way to go next. Coming from a place whose population only reached 18, 000, it was safe to say that she was overwhelmed by the sheer size of the city. What was worse was that she was in one of the back streets and just did not know where to go.
With her backpack over her shoulder and her hands shoved in her pockets, Kitty continued to walk, keeping her head down as she tried to avoid eye contact with the people hanging around. She'd heard all the horror stories of what could happen in places like this, and she was determined not to have any of that happen to her.
Kitty wished she'd never agreed to come to New York. It was starting to look like a very bad idea.

The very moment she had walked into the alley she had her eyes on the girl. Jazz. Born and raised in a larger city and now being part of a bigger group she felt so much better. She had seen the kid in school already and she had figured it would be a nice target to pick on. So far things hadn’t taken a turn for the worse yet… but Jazz would want to know what would drive a person like Kitty so she had followed her into New York. Of course Jazz knew the way, she for now just followed the lost girl.
“Looky here… someone lost?”
She suddenly spoke up and moved towards the wall where she leaned against it and looked at the kid. Her eyes a bit raised. She was older than Kitty. But then, Jazz was one of the older ones… not as old as the newest kid in school though. They wondered what he was doing there anyway… but that wasn’t the point now.
Pushing off she began to walk towards Kitty and looked at her while she moved her hand up and for the hair of Kitty to gently stroke some of it. She tilted her head to the side and rose her eyebrows in question. She would so love this. If Kitty would bite the bait now. Her brown eyes seemed to have locked on Kitty’s and wouldn’t be adverting for now.
“Ain’t very smart to go out and wander alone through these streets girly.”

For now, she'd been left along and undisturbed by those around her. At least that was what she had thought until a voice interrupted her thoughts and caused the young teenager to look up in surprise. For a moment there it looked like she was going to flee, but her expression cleared and she shook her head.
"I'm not... lost."
Kitty replied, as she stared at the older female. Jazz definitly didn't look like someone she should be hanging around, if only judging by her appearance. Increasingly agitated as the other approached her, her eyes darted around for an escape route. She could phase of course, but she still didn't have enough skills to be able to phase on will...
... Kitty was more likely to run into a wall if she tried...
She focused on Jazz again, there was something preadatory about the way the other girl moved towards her. Perhaps it was her already panicked state of mind, but Kitty certainly wasn't enjoying the moment.
She flinched back as Jazz touched her hair. She was too close... Kitty pushed her hand away and began backing off, shaking her head as she did so, though being sure to keep her gaze on the elder. Just to be safe.
"W-What are you doing? Stay away from me!"
Suffice to say, she was thoroughly creeped out.
